Safety Advisor (5/19/09)
Sylacauga, AL. $50K to $60K BS degree in safety or related is required with at least 3 years of hands-on safety experience within a manufacturing plant.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, experience implementing site-specific programs and solid training skills. Must have skills in leadership, communication, project management, problem solving and proficient with Microsoft Office. Travel expected to be 10% throughout North America. Must be a local candidate as relocation assistance is not provided. Reports to the Ops Manager; monitoring plant operations to ensure compliance with regulations; assists in the development, training, implementation and administration of policies/procedures and standards.
Specific responsibilities: coaching and advising operations personnel in the area of legislative and regulatory requirements and responsibilities; monitoring and ensuring continuous improvement and active participation in a comprehensive safety program; assist in the development, implementation and facilitation of training; work with regulatory agencies and company resources to ensure compliance; on-time submission of regulatory and company required reports; assist in conducting incident investigations and manage analysis, tracking and reporting cycles; coordinate and facilitate all company and regulatory audits and inspections; maintenance of all MSDS, compliance, incident and training documentation; may also serve other sites as needed.
